early 70s

Desmond Dekker- Israelites (Live)

The original rocka. Desmond Dekker performs at Wembley 1970.

Neil Young- Old Man (Live)

Another gem from the Harvest album played live at Massey Hall. This is some of my favorite music of all time and this video puts a great face to this legendary song.

Neil Young- Heart of Gold (Live)

One of the greatest folk rock songs of all time bar none. Incrediblely powerful mix of all the right elements of harmonica, acoustic guitar and a one of a kind vioce make this a haunting listening expirience. From the album Harvest, one of those rare CDs that can be listened to all the way through without pressing next. This is Mr. Young live in 1973.

ELO- Showdown (Live)

Electric Light Orchestra's best song performed live on the tv show "Top of the Pops" circa 1973. Where does the hair end and the beard's begin? You tell me.

James Talyor- Sweet Baby James (Live)

This man started the whole white boy soft rock easy listening trend of the 70s but he was rarely equally in the tallent catagory. Here's to originallity.

James Taylor- Steam Roller (Live)

Smooth white boy blues live from 1971.

Stevie Wonder- Living for the City

1973 Motown Time Capsule Video featuring the song Living for the City by Stevie Wonder. One of Stevie's more socially concious songs.

Stevie Wonder- Uptight (Live)

This was sort of a comeback on the charts for the 15 year old kid. Jeff Beck was one of many who musicians were impressed by this genius in the early 70's and said that "music seems to come out of his ass". The video gets cut off a little at the end but I want you to know "everything is alright."

Stevie Wonder- Superstition (Live)

Pretty much the greatest song by the artist with one of the most memorable hooks of all time, it just never grows old. This is my man Stevie with the band in the studio circa 1973. I also included a version of the same song recoded live on Sesame Street, if that's not the pimpest thing a performer can do I don't know what is.
